Once again, I've "liked" your comments but only because you have brought to light the terrible conditions and abuses in the detention facilities. Not a day goes by, when I don't read something that is just terrible, and it is so sad that now America is the "laughing-stock" of the whole world, and for us Americans who are so angry over what is happening, it is nothing short of heart-breaking.

Today's revelations in this column are so egregious, and yet nothing tangible is being done to stop these terrible transgressions! How can members of Congress hear of these conditions and experiences and not be moved to DO SOMETHING! It is all beyond my comprehension! Such suffering is just unconscionable!

We sign petitions to Congress, but in every instance, we are asked for donations! Every single time. I am one of millions of elders who are living on borrowed time--who have only social security to live on, and pray there will be no extra expenses, like car trouble and dental work that are unaffordable but very necessary.

We are living in the 21st Century, yet we are going backwards--to the Dark Ages! Thank you for telling us these very sad stories of the suffering of the detainees! I can't help but wonder why ANY child is being held in a detention facility! And pregnant women? WHY? Tell me why!
